Applies clay to armatures
Sets templates to clay
Takes dimensions from model with accurate measurements
Puts dimensional information on model for checking or duplication
Uses clay modeling equipment
Creates 3-D clay or digital models
Creates new and improves existing clay models using templates, points and other data provided by a supervisor or designated leader
Produces finished model to specifications
Frequently assists studio personnel in developing solutions to engineering and design problems
Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and / or project
Coordinates input from internal / external customers to better understand customer needs and/or perceptions
Ability to work independently and with others in a creative team environment
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to create finished three-dimensional models
Excellent understanding and abilities in surface, form and line development
Ability to read engineering drawings
Demonstrated technical and creative skills supported by review of portfolio presentation
Ability to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals
Ability to creatively solve issues pertaining to clay surfacing using clay, basic tools, basic sheet metal fabrication.
Ability to work quickly under time constraints and produce work that is functional and within scope of what is asked of the sculptor
2 Year Fine Arts degree or certification with emphasis on sculpting or equivalent work experience
Shifts:
1st 6AM-3PM
2nd 3PM-12AM
Ability to be flexible is preferred. The modeler will work either 1st or 2nd shift but that could shift based on need.
Initial training will be conducted in MI (3-5 weeks) after this the employee is expected to be located and reside in Smyrna, GA where the remainder of the assignment will be hosted
