Hello All,
Due to the increase of anonymous postings I have decided to restrict postings to members only, I feel that the standard of comments that are being presented to our industry is deteriorating and will be detrimental to our image in the future.
Remember that this forum is read by a huge cross section of the Automotive Design world which includes management and the media. I think we should maintain our profession and not make silly derogatory remarks just for a bit of fun.
Jeff.

Good decision Jeff!
If we believe in what we say then we should put our names to it. No doubt you will have upset alot of people but I think this is a good decision for the forum.

:'(Unfortunately Jeff I can not agree with this decision at the moment.
It is a sad state of affairs when people can not openly voice their opinions but an overiding fear in our industry is that your opinion can affect your employment oportunities. Why else would guys stay anonymous when posting replies.
There have been some rather disturbing replies at times but they can be ignored or taken for what they are, childish, and intelligent people usually do. Anonymous postings are only read at face value anyway.
However, anonymous postings provide discussion on sensitive subjects and give guys the confidence to post what they are really thinking.
My greatest fear now will be that the postings will dry up and any further discussion stifled due to this decision. I understand your concerns but do you believe that support will continue for subjects like "AGENTS" or further discussion about an association without anonymous postings?
Only time will tell, but of late this web site has given hope to modellers as well as hours of fun and something to talk about on a rear bumper.
I personally believe that work is picking up, and as a profession now is the time we need to voice our concerns, fears and aspirations otherwise everybody may stay in the dark. we can not afford to remain complacent because we are all working, because I do not believe that will improve our position. This industry (contracting) flourished when guys talked freely about positions and rates, Scams and dodges, best hotels, flights and sleeper houses. In the last few years this has changed.
You, Jeff, gave us a platform on which to air these things and I feel disappointed if you then decide to take it away.

Hello Browngold,
I have been trying to encourage modellers to voice their opinions on this forum for years and I have no problem with sensible criticism or open discussion.
The majority of comments on this forum are from serious minded sensible people and I have no intention of taking the opportunity to air their views away but I will not tolerate the minority that post objectionable, narrow minded comments.
As administrator of this forum I will remove future postings that are offensive. If you abuse it you will lose it.
If you have to hide behind an alias then it's obvious you can't stand by your convictions.
Jeff.

;D I have to agree with you Jeff on this one. There has been some dodgey postings recently, there have also been some very good ones which have created a lot of banter. It is all too easy to hide behind an alias to slag off a person or company, if you have balls you use your name and risk paying the consequencies. If you believe in what you are saying, you can use your name and not worry.

Hello Jeff
On reflection of your comments, Iam in full agreement that hiding behind an alias means I cannot stand by my convictions.
Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to apologise for any and all coments I have posted, and sincerely hope they have not caused offence.
In future any postings I make will carry my name.
